Reactor Melt Gear Pumps

Reactor melt gear pumps are precision devices specifically designed for the transportation of high-viscosity melts, widely used in industries such as chemicals, plastics, rubber, and synthetic fibers. Their core function is to achieve stable pressurization and precise metering of melts through the volumetric changes generated by gear meshing. Compared to ordinary gear pumps, its design must accommodate extreme operating conditions such as high temperatures (typically above 300°C), high pressures (up to 30 MPa), and high viscosities (exceeding 10⁵ cP). Therefore, special alloy steels (such as tool steel and stainless steel) and special heat treatment processes are employed to ensure wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

Structure and Working Principle

The pump primarily consists of an active gear, a driven gear, a pump body, a bearing system, and a heating jacket.

Gear Design: Involute or arc-shaped teeth are used, precision-ground to minimize pulsation; gear clearance must be strictly controlled within 0.05–0.1 mm to balance sealing performance and melt flowability.

Drive System: Equipped with a variable-frequency motor or hydraulic motor to achieve stepless flow regulation (accuracy ±1%).

Temperature Control Mechanism: Features built-in electric heating rods or a thermal oil circulation system to maintain uniform melt temperature (fluctuation ±2°C).
